Lord, I Will Never Turn Back

There are times when the Lord reminds us through His Word; despite the ups and downs of life--we are coming all the way through! This inspiration came to me during my quiet time recently as I read about Abraham, "...the [spiritual] father of all who believe..." (Romans 4, esp. v. 11, AMP). Yes, Abraham lived long ago but he is not far off from any of us. His relationship with God, his love for family, and the ebb & flow of his daily life clearly speak to our own. We are forever connected. 

My Heart Declares...

Lord, I hear Your voice and follow You.
I will not turn back.

Though I don't see every detail,
I will not turn back.

Though I'm not always comfortable
And moving forward, inconvenient;
Though at times I may stumble,
I will not turn back.

Though delays may come
And distractions may divert my way;
Though distress may come against me,
I will not turn back.

My Lord, I will follow You.
I will rise each day and take new ground,
For You provide my every need
And bring Your promises to pass.
No, I will not turn back.

Step by step, I believe You.
I walk in peace and thank You...
Through the storm, in the night,
Til the breaking of a new day.
I will not turn back.

I look up to You, Lord,
And look forward to the future.
Because You are with me
I will never turn back.
